Rurouni Kenshin, better known as Samurai X due to the English dub, is another obvious choice for this list. While not as influential as the previous two, it’s significant for two main reasons: (1) it solidified the transition from musclebound 80s protagonists to the 90s pretty-boy shounen heroes, and (2) being produced by Sony, it had a lot of good music, also kicking off the trend of having multiple songs throughout a run.
To be honest, 1/3 no Junjou na Kanjou isn’t my favorite RK song. It’s not even in my top 3. But it’s very popular, not too difficult (1/2, Heart of Sword~Yoake Made~), not too flashy (the Fourth Avenue Cafe), nor too simple (It’s gonna rain!). In short, just right for this episode.
